Understand What the Rating Actually Allows
Terms such as splash resistant, waterproof, and submersible are not interchangeable. The specific datasheet and test conditions govern the installation.
Splash Resistant
A descriptive term, not a complete rating. Verify the tested water direction, pressure, enclosure, and connector details.
Water Resistant
Indicates limited resistance under stated conditions. It does not automatically allow immersion.
Waterproof / IP Rated
Use the published IP code. HX8-A45-M is documented as IP65; IP65 does not establish underwater capability.
Submersible / Underwater
Requires a model-specific immersion rating. WX8-R50W-M is listed as IP68 and 300m Waterproof in the official 技术文档.
The first digit covers solid ingress and the second covers water. Read the complete rating, not the word “waterproof” alone.
IP68 conditions are specified by the manufacturer. A depth statement must not be treated as unlimited duration.
